GV60 Magma Concept: Genesis Redefines Electric Sporty SUVs
The Genesis GV60 Magma Concept is here, and it’s an exciting new chapter in the luxury electric SUV space.
This new crossover builds on the foundation of the all-electric GV60 platform while pushing boundaries. The GV60 Magma Concept shares DNA with its Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 cousins from the E-GMP architecture, but takes a distinctly Genesis approach.
The GV60 Magma isn’t just another electric vehicle; it’s proof that luxury driving can be both sustainable and exciting.
Let’s take a look at what we know about this concept so far.
Design That Dares: Sporty Styling and Aerodynamic Enhancements
The Genesis GV60 Magma’s bold exterior is aerodynamic and built for performance. Genesis’s sporty SUV has a lowered, widened stance that creates an impressive road presence, complemented by functional fender flares and an aggressive front fascia with a redesigned air dam and splitter.
Performance elements include roof fins, aerodynamic camera pods replacing traditional side mirrors, and a pronounced rear spoiler and diffuser that enhance both capability and visual impact. The package is topped off with distinctive 21-inch split five-spoke wheels with specialized brake-cooling aero discs.
Inside, the cabin perfectly balances motorsport inspiration and luxury craftsmanship. Bold orange premium Nappa leather and suede bucket seats with titanium grey accents create a stylish and comfortable focal point. Every detail is luxurious, from the color-matched seatbacks and accent stitching to the Alcantara (a synthetic, suede-like fabric) and chrome detailing throughout the cabin.
Unsurprisingly, the cabin is full of modern tech, with digital displays for the side camera feeds incorporated directly into the passenger door panels. The GV60 Magma is futuristic inside and out.
Electrified Power Meets Precision Handling: What to Expect from Magma Performance
When it comes to the GV60 Magma’s performance, Genesis promises a blend of luxury and track-ready capabilities.
The Genesis GV60 Magma will be built on the same platform as the current GV60. This dual-motor platform provides an incredible 483 horsepower. We expect it to have a 0-60 mph time of 3-3.5 seconds.
We also expect the GV60 Magma to have adaptive tuning for superior performance and multiple drive modes for optimal handling in all weather and road conditions.
Pricing and Release Date: What to Expect from Genesis
According to Genesis, the estimated starting price for the GV60 Magma edition will be around $74,000. This is approximately $3,000 more than the GV60.
Multiple trims are possible, although we don’t have concrete information yet. It’s possible that there will be a stripped-down base model and a fully loaded luxury option, but we’ll have to wait for an announcement from Genesis to be sure.
And what about a release date? As of May 2025, Genesis says the GV60 Magma is “very close to production,” so we can expect it to become available in late 2025 or early 2026.
